Fashion Meets Film at Vogue World: Hollywood

Vogue World: Hollywood was held at Paramount Pictures studio lot in Los Angeles. Models and celebrities embodied characters and looks from iconic films including:
-
Anok Yai as Edward Scissorhands (designed by Colleen Atwood)
-
Julia Garner as Marie Antoinette (costume by Milena Canonero)
-
Teyana Taylor as Shuri from the Black Panther (by the film’s costume designer Ruth E. Carter)
-
Kendall Jenner wore an original costume from Milan Rouge (designed by Catherine Martin), while appearing in multiple promotional videos for the event.
-
Nicole Kidman opened the event with a musical performance sung by Rita Hayworth in the 1946 film Gilda as a nod to Old Hollywood and followed with a runway walk wearing a custom black satin gown designed by Chanel’s Matthieu Blazy.

The film meets fashion narrative was created to celebrate the most inspiring characters in cinema history.
The event further symbolizes where fashion is headed next, centering the focus on broader storytelling mediums such as film to sell cultural narratives beyond the clothing itself.
Film will be used as a tool by fashion brands to connect with their audience on a deeper level, including by luxury brands (example: Demna’s Gucci The Tiger film).

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Jasmine Tookes opened the VS 2025 Fashion Show visibily pregnant, signaling a positive normalization of motherhood in the fashion spotlight.
Angel Reese became the first professional athlete to walk the show, emphasizing the increasing blend of the sports and fashion industries.
Victoria’s Secret made a statement with these two models alone, reinventing the old mold of the stereotypical VS Angel.

Broadening their model representation mattered, as 2025 marked it’s second year return to the runway after being cancelled for six years over lack of body positivity and inclusivity controversy.
This year, Victoria's Secret stuck to their heritage wings while including new models and legacy VS Angels such as Gigi and Bella Hadid, Adriana Lima, Alex Consani, Barbara Palvin, and Candice Swanepoel.
Bella Hadid’s return was also significant, closing the show with enormous 50 pound wings, only 3 to 4 weeks out of the hospital battling Lyme disease.

Viewers could directly shop during the live fashion show, signifying fashion’s focus on immediate direct to consumer shopping access through streaming and commerce integrations.
The most viral looks from the show included:
-
Jasmine Tookes gold macramé dress embellished with pearls and crystals
-
Angel Reese’s pink wings and lingerie sets
-
Gigi Hadid’s floor-length 3D rose petal cape and silk set
-
Bella Hadid’s fiery red lingerie set with high stockings and garter details and her silver fringe bra and skirt paired with the dramatic 50 pound floral angel wings
-
Madison Beer in a white corset and pink angel wings
