Sami Miro Vintage: Protect Mother Earth

Sami Miro Vintage: Protect Mother Earth

Sami Miro grew up in San Francisco and frequently went thrift shopping with her father, leading to her passion for vintage and reworked fashion.

After earning her Master’s Degree in Global Entrepreneurship, Sami worked at a tech startup.

Sami Miro Vintage Launch (2016)

At 25 years old, Sami launched Sami Miro Vintage, combining her entrepreneurial skills and commitment to sustainability.

Her brand operates under the eco-conscious mission:

“Protect Mother Earth. Without her, we do not exist.”

Her business practices zero-waste design by reworking vintage textiles, deadstock or recycled materials to create new clothing collections.

Sami Miro Vintage’s supply chain is sourced, sewn, and finished locally in Los Angeles.

Beyond using sustainable materials, the brand’s washing and dyeing processes are low impact through minimal water usage and non-toxic chemicals.

In 2021, Sami Miro earned industry recognition and was awarded a CFDA Fashion Trust Grant through her sustainable efforts.

Sami Miro Vintage x Samsung (Sept. 2021)

Sami Miro x Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Collab

Sami Miro Vintage partnered with Samsung to launch a limited edition collection for the Galaxy Watch 4.

The collection featured six watch bands and three downloadable watch faces.

“Stratus Sky” and “Midnight Black” bands are made from AppleSkin, a vegan ‘leather’ alternative crafted from upcycled apple peel waste.

The other four bands are non-toxic, non-plastic, and recyclable.

Miro’s work with Samsung is a strong example of fashion designers bridging the gap between fashion tech and sustainability.

Nike x Sami Miro Collab

In 2024, Sami Miro designed custom jackets for the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team in partnership with Nike, dressing olympic gymnasts Simone Biles, Suni Lee, and Jordan Chiles.

Sami has a personal ten-year history as a competitive gymnast.

The custom jackets were constructed out of eco-certified leather and deadstock silk charmeuse. She utilized open-seam tailoring to reinforce strength and breathable movement.

In the world of high fashion, few designers fuse ethics, sustainable design and innovation as seamlessly as Sami Miro Vintage.

Her reworked clothing, local production, and eco-conscious collaborations support a movement where timeless design doesn't need to damage the Earth.
